Successipe! Spicy Tuna Sandwich

I experimented in making a spicy tuna sushi inspired sandwich... and it was a success! Here's how to make your own Spicy Tuna Sandwich:

Ingredients:

2 pieces whole grain bread
1/2 can White Tuna in water
1 tbsp Light Mayonnaise
1/2 Avocado
Dash of Sesame oil
Dash of Shiracha sauce

Method:

1. In a bowl, mix tuna, mayonnaise, sesame oil & Shiracha sauce. Don't go overboard on the sesame oil, as it is just to taste. Add as much Shiracha sauce to create whatever degree of "spiciness" you like. (I found this stuff pretty powerful though, so maybe use sparingly on your first go.)

2. Chop avocado half as desired. I cut it into strips.

3. Spread tuna mixture on bread. Add avocado on top to finish your sandwich!

Ta-da! Quick, easy and delicious!

  1. Umm, sounds good :D

I made a natto sandwich. If you're up for a delicious (if you like natto...) treat, just take bread, the natto, and mustard (spicy is best...for me!!). It was pretty good. But natto is a tricky thing. Quite a few Japanese people don't even like it so be careful. I wouldn't pay too much for a couple of packets of the stuff if you haven't had it before.

I must try and attempt to make something like this sometime! (whole grain bread is pretty much non-existent here, and I'm just not a fan of mayo...) But, I'll see about giving it a go :D

  2. Ok, I'm a total newb... what's Natto? I'm not sure that I've heard of it...

They mayo here is a bit of a key ingredient because it's the base of the sauce, but you don't have to use too much. It's basically just a sauce that you would have accompany or use in a spicey sushi.

Let me know how it goes! XD

  3. Natto...fermented soy beans. It takes a bit of getting used to, but I love it so much. Hated it the first time. Liked it the second. Loved it the third time. And obviously since then as well.

Do you think mustard could be substituted? Maybe if I'm at a friends house I can borrow some...

I will! It might take awhile since I'm amazingly lazy...even with food!
